What It Is

SodPods® St. Augustine Scotts® ProVista™ Grass Plugs are pre-grown, 3" x 3" sod squares designed to repair bare or thinning spots in St. Augustine lawns. They’re a direct replacement for traditional seeding or larger sod rolls, specifically for use with St. Augustine grass—not for other grass types or machines.

Fitment & Compatibility

• Grass type only: These plugs are for St. Augustine grass (including ProVista™ varieties). They will not work for Bermuda, Zoysia, Fescue, or other warm-season grasses.
• No machine fitment: This is a hand-installed plug, not a mower or trimmer part. No deck size, brand, or model compatibility to check.
• State restrictions: Cannot ship to California or Arizona due to local agricultural regulations. If you’re in either state, do not order.
• Measurements: Each plug is 3" x 3" (9 sq in). The 32-count covers roughly 2 sq ft total (not a large area). Measure your bare spots to ensure you have enough coverage.

Key Things to Know

• Installation difficulty: Easy—just dig a hole, place the plug, water, and keep moist for 2-3 weeks. No special tools needed.
• Growth time: Plugs will fill in over 4-8 weeks, depending on sun, water, and soil prep. Don’t expect instant coverage.
• Quality: Pre-grown roots are established, but plugs can dry out quickly if not planted within 24-48 hours of arrival. Check for green, healthy tops before planting.
• Common gotcha: Don’t plant in partial shade—St. Augustine needs 4+ hours of direct sun. Also, pre-soak the soil 24 hours before planting for best root contact.
