This is an 8-pack of replacement steering bushings (models 941-0475 and 741-0475) designed to fix loose, wobbly steering in Troy-Bilt, Cub Cadet, and Huskee lawn tractors. They fit the steering shaft where it passes through the frame, reducing play and improving control.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, verify your machine’s model number (often under the seat or on the frame). These bushings are direct replacements for OEM parts 941-0475 and 741-0475. They commonly fit:
- Troy-Bilt: Pony, Bronco, Super Bronco, Mustang (select models with 42” or 46” decks)
- Cub Cadet: LT, XT1, XT2, GT series (especially 2000-2015 models)
- Huskee: 42” and 46” deck tractors (MTD-built)
- Also compatible with Craftsman, Yard-Man, and Bolens models using the same MTD steering shaft.
Critical check: Measure the outer diameter of your old bushing (typically 1.125”) and the inner diameter of the steering shaft hole (usually 0.75”). These bushings are for a 3/4” steering shaft. If your shaft is 5/8” or 1”, they won’t fit. Also confirm you need the 1.125” OD—some older models use a 1.0” OD bushing.
Key Things to Know
- Quality: These are aftermarket nylon/plastic bushings, not metal. They’re durable for residential use but may wear faster than OEM metal sleeves under heavy commercial duty.
- Installation: Easy—usually just slide out the old bushing, clean the bore, and press in the new one. No special tools required, but a socket or pipe can help seat them flush.
- Gotcha: If your steering shaft is bent or the frame hole is worn oval, new bushings alone won’t fix the wobble. Inspect the shaft for straightness first.
- Pack size: 8 bushings is overkill for most tractors (most use 2-4). You’ll have spares for future replacements or other machines.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you have a Troy-Bilt, Cub Cadet, or Huskee with a 3/4” steering shaft and noticeable play that’s not from a bent shaft. It’s a cheap, easy fix for a common problem. Skip it if you need metal bushings for commercial use or if your steering issue is from worn gears or a damaged rack.
