This is an OEM upper handle assembly for MTD-branded walk-behind lawn mowers, designed to replace a bent, broken, or worn handle section that connects the lower handle to the control grips. It’s for residential mowers with adjustable handle height.

Fitment & Compatibility

• Check your model number – MTD uses a 7-digit model number (e.g., 11A-xxxxx) under the seat or on the mower deck. This part fits many MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines mowers with a 22-inch to 30-inch cutting deck.
• Measure the existing handle – The upper handle tube is typically 1 inch in diameter. Confirm the length and the distance between mounting holes (usually 3.5 to 4 inches center-to-center).
• OEM vs aftermarket – This is genuine MTD (OEM) part 590-0691A. Aftermarket versions may have different hole spacing or thinner tubing.
• Adjustable feature – Only works if your mower originally had an adjustable handle. Non-adjustable models use a fixed upper handle.
