This is an aftermarket ignition key replacement designed for Hustler zero-turn mowers. It’s a universal-fit, metal-and-plastic key that starts the engine—no transponder or chip—so it’s purely a mechanical spare or backup.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, confirm these three things:
- Mower brand & model: Fits all Hustler zero-turn mowers, including Raptor, FasTrak, and Super Z series. Does NOT fit other brands (e.g., Toro, John Deere, Scag) without checking keyway shape.
- Keyway pattern: This key uses a flat-style, two-sided cut (not a round or tubular key). Compare against your original key’s profile—if your Hustler key is a standard “universal” pattern, this will work. If it’s a unique or restricted cut, it won’t.
- OEM vs aftermarket: DVPARTS is a third-party brand. It’s not OEM Hustler (PN 736244 or similar). Works as a direct replacement for standard Hustler keys but may feel slightly looser in the switch. No modifications needed.
Pro check: If your mower uses a key with a rubber head or a specific logo, this is a plain black plastic head—no branding.
Key Things to Know
- Quality: Solid metal shaft, but the plastic head is basic. It won’t snap under normal use, but avoid forcing it if it doesn’t turn easily.
- Installation: Zero difficulty—just insert and turn. No wiring, no tools.
- Common gotcha: Some Hustler models (especially older Super Z) use a slightly different keyway. If your key has a “D” shape or a notch on one side only, measure the blade width (typically 7mm) and compare before buying.
- Bulk pack: You get 4 keys for $6.99—cheaper than a single OEM key. Good for keeping spares in the garage, shed, or glove box.
Should You Buy It
If you own a Hustler zero-turn with a standard flat key and want cheap backups to avoid being stranded, this is a no-brainer. Skip it if you need a branded OEM key or have an older model with a non-standard cut—test fit first with one key. For most Raptor, FasTrak, and Super Z owners, it’s a solid value buy.
