What It Is

This is a set of replacement idler pulleys and bearings for the 48-inch Edge™ cutting decks on select John Deere lawn tractors. It restores smooth belt tension and deck operation when the original idlers wear out or start making noise.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your deck size first – this kit is for 48-inch Edge™ decks only (not 42-inch or 54-inch). Fits John Deere models D140, D150, D155, D160, LA145, LA155, LA165, X140, and X165 built with that deck.
Measure your existing idlers – the kit includes two pulleys with 5/8-inch bore and 3.25-inch outer diameter. If your OEM idlers are a different size, this won’t work.
OEM cross-reference – replaces John Deere parts GY20579, GY20713, and GY21197. Aftermarket fit is generally good, but check that the bearing spacer thickness matches your deck’s belt path.
