This is the OEM replacement side discharge deflector (chute) for Toro TimeCutter 42" zero-turn mowers. It directs grass clippings out the right side during side-discharge mowing and must be in place for safe operation.
Fitment & Compatibility
Direct fit for: Toro TimeCutter 42" models 75752TA and 77401. Also fits other TimeCutter 42" decks using the same mounting pattern. Do not assume it fits all 42" Toro decks — check your model number on the mower’s serial plate (under seat or on frame).
OEM part – made by Toro, not an aftermarket copy. Comes with required hardware (spring, pins, washers). No modifications needed. Deck size must be exactly 42" – won’t fit 50" or 54" decks.
Before buying: Measure your existing deflector mounting holes (center-to-center) – should be about 6.5" apart. Verify your current deflector part number if possible (look for 137-7046 stamped on it).
Key Things to Know
- Quality: OEM construction matches original – durable plastic, same spring tension. Aftermarket versions often warp or crack within a season.
- Installation difficulty: Easy – 15 minutes with basic hand tools (socket wrench, pliers for spring). No drilling or cutting.
- Common gotcha: The spring can be tricky to hook without snapping fingers. Use a spring tool or needlenose pliers. Watch orientation – the chute must swing freely but not droop.
- Tip: If your old one broke from hitting a low branch or stump, check the deck mounting bracket for damage before installing the new one.
Should You Buy It
Yes, if you own a Toro TimeCutter 42" model 75752TA or 77401 and your original deflector is cracked, missing, or won’t stay up. The OEM fit is perfect and the included hardware saves a trip to the hardware store. Avoid cheaper aftermarket options – they’ll likely fail faster and may not meet safety requirements.
