What It Is

This is an aftermarket 24V 3.0Ah lithium-ion battery designed as a replacement for Greenworks cordless lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other 24V/48V Max tools that use the same battery platform. It powers mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers in the Greenworks 24V/48V ecosystem.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your tool uses the 24V/48V Max slide-in battery design (flat, rectangular with side rails). This battery is not compatible with Greenworks’ older 24V stick batteries or 40V/60V/80V systems.

  • Compatible models include: 29842, 29852, 29322, 20352, 22232, 2508302 (and many 24V/48V tools with the same battery port).
  • Physical check: Measure your existing battery’s slot – this unit is roughly 5.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches. If your tool uses a different shape or has a battery that slides in from the top, it won’t fit.
  • Voltage note: This 24V battery works in 48V tools that require two batteries in series (you’d need two of these). It does not replace a single 48V battery.

Key Things to Know

  • Aftermarket quality: This is not OEM Greenworks. It uses lower-grade cells, so runtime and lifespan will be less than the original. Expect 60-80% of the OEM’s capacity in real use.
  • Installation: Zero difficulty – slide it in until it clicks. No tools or wiring needed.
  • Common gotcha: The 3.0Ah rating is often overstated. For a 24V mower, you’ll get about 15-20 minutes of runtime on a small lawn.
  • Charging: Works with any Greenworks 24V charger (model 29872, 29462, etc.). Charging time is around 1-2 hours.

Should You Buy It

Buy this only if you need a budget backup battery for light-duty tasks like trimming or edging, and you’re comfortable with shorter runtime and lower reliability than OEM. For primary mowing or heavy use, spend more on a genuine Greenworks battery – you’ll get better performance and a warranty that actually covers you.
