This is a replacement mower deck belt designed to drive the blades on a 54-inch Bad Boy ZT Elite or CZT Elite zero-turn mower. It replaces OEM part 041-1560-00 and uses aramid cord reinforcement for added strength and heat resistance.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, confirm your mower’s deck size and model. This belt is specifically for 54-inch Bad Boy ZT Elite and CZT Elite models. It does not fit 48-inch or 60-inch decks, nor older Bad Boy models without “Elite” in the name. Measure your existing belt length (end-to-end, flat) — OEM 041-1560-00 is typically 1/2” wide by 99.5” long. If your belt measures differently, this won’t fit. Check your mower’s serial number against Bad Boy’s compatibility chart; some early ZT Elite units used a different belt.
Key Things to Know
- Aramid cord vs. standard rubber: Aramid (Kevlar-like) belts resist stretching and heat better than plain rubber, lasting longer under heavy use or hot conditions.
- Installation difficulty: Moderate — you’ll need to remove the deck or at least the belt guard and tensioner pulley. No special tools, but a socket set and a pry bar for the tensioner help.
- Common gotcha: The belt routing diagram is not included. Take a photo of the old belt path before removal, or find the routing on Bad Boy’s site. Incorrect routing causes rapid wear or blade engagement failure.
- Break-in period: Expect slight initial slack. Re-tension after the first 1-2 hours of mowing.
Should You Buy It
If you have a 54-inch Bad Boy ZT Elite or CZT Elite and want a durable, heat-resistant belt at a lower price than OEM ($40+), this is a solid choice. But if your mower is an older Bad Boy or a different deck size, look elsewhere — fitment is narrow.
