This is a set of three high-lift mulching blades, each 20 1/2 inches long with a 5/8-inch center hole, designed for 60-inch mower decks on Toro and Exmark zero-turn mowers. The high-lift design improves grass clipping suction and discharge for better mulching or bagging performance.
Fitment & Compatibility
Critical checks before buying:
- Deck size: Only for 60-inch mower decks (three blades). Will not fit 48", 52", or 72" decks.
- Center hole: 5/8-inch diameter. Measure your spindle shaft – most Toro and Exmark spindles use this, but verify if you have aftermarket spindles.
- Blade length: 20 1/2 inches overall. Measure your current blade tip-to-tip; aftermarket or older decks may differ slightly.
- Brand/model: Direct fit for Toro TimeCutter, GrandStand, and Z-Master 60" decks, plus Exmark Lazer Z, Quest, and Radius 60" decks. Not compatible with Zero-Turn models requiring a 3/4-inch center hole.
- OEM vs aftermarket: These are aftermarket blades. If you need exact OEM part numbers, check Toro 137-8842 or Exmark 1-553159. Toro OEM blades often have a thicker center hole bushing – inspect your spindle for wear before installing aftermarket.
Key Things to Know
- Installation difficulty: Easy with a socket and torque wrench. Use thread locker on spindle bolts and torque to 70–80 ft-lbs. Do not overtighten.
- Quality note: 4.7 stars from 97 reviews – users report good balance and sharpness out of the box. Some note they wear faster than OEM blades on heavy-use commercial decks.
- Common gotcha: High-lift blades create more suction, which can cause clumping in wet grass. Only use for dry cutting or if your deck has good airflow. They also slightly increase engine load – watch for belt slipping on older decks.
- Sharpening: Can be sharpened 2–3 times before replacement. Check for cracks or bent tips after each season.
Should You Buy It
If you have a 60-inch Toro or Exmark zero-turn and want better mulching or bagging performance without paying OEM prices, this set is a solid value. Avoid if you cut wet grass frequently or have a commercial mower needing thicker OEM blades for daily abuse.
