What It Is

The Rotary 15845 is a flat idler pulley (6-3/4" outer diameter) designed to tension and guide the drive belt on zero-turn and lawn tractor mower decks. It directly replaces Exmark OEM pulleys 126-9189, 114-5895, and 116-4670, commonly found on 48", 52", and 60" fabricated decks.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify these three things:

  • Deck size & model: Fits Exmark Lazer Z, Lazer Z X-Series, and Quest models with 48", 52", or 60" UltraCut or MegaCut fabricated decks. Also compatible with some Toro and Scag decks that use the same pulley pattern.
  • Bearing type: This is a sealed ball bearing pulley (no grease fitting). It uses a 5/8" inner bore and a 1" wide bearing. Measure your existing pulley bore with a caliper—if it’s different, it won’t fit.
  • Mounting bolts: Uses two 5/16"-18 bolts on 3-1/4" center-to-center spacing. Check bolt pattern matches your deck bracket before ordering.

OEM vs aftermarket: Rotary is a known aftermarket brand. It’s built to OEM specs but costs roughly half the price of an Exmark OEM pulley.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Sealed steel bearing with a plastic (nylon) outer sheave. Holds up well under normal residential/commercial use, but the plastic sheave can crack if overtightened or hit by debris.
  • Installation difficulty: Easy—remove two bolts, swap pulley, reinstall. No special tools needed. Torque bolts to 20-25 ft-lbs; overtightening can warp the sheave.
  • Common gotcha: The pulley’s flat face must align perfectly with the belt path. If your old pulley had a slight offset (conical shape), this flat replacement won’t work—check before buying.
  • Wear indicator: If your belt squeals or the deck vibrates, check this pulley first. A seized bearing will leave flat spots on the sheave.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you need a direct replacement for a worn or seized Exmark flat idler pulley on a 48"-60" fabricated deck and want to save 40-50% vs OEM. Skip it if your original pulley is a conical or offset design—stick with the exact OEM part to avoid belt alignment issues. For the price, it’s a solid value for DIY owners and small commercial operators.
