This is a complete 50-inch mower deck maintenance kit for select Toro TimeCutter and MX series zero-turn mowers, containing three high-lift blades and a heavy-duty drive belt. It’s designed for a single deck servicing to restore cutting performance and belt drive reliability.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, confirm your mower has a 50-inch stamped steel deck and is one of these models: Toro TimeCutter SS5000, SS5060, MX5000, or MX5060. The blades replace OEM part 115-5059-03 (or the newer 115-5059-03-03) and the belt replaces 119-8820. Measure your existing blades: they should be approximately 16.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, with a center hole diameter of 0.75 inches and a 5-point star center (not a round hole). The belt should be about 1/2 inch wide and 92.5 inches long. If your deck or spindle uses a different blade hole pattern or your belt length differs, this kit won’t fit.
Key Things to Know
- Blade quality: These are aftermarket high-lift blades, not OEM Toro. They provide good lift for bagging and mulching but may be slightly thinner or less balanced than originals.
- Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need a socket wrench, blade removal tool (or block of wood to prevent spinning), and a torque wrench (blades to 40–50 ft-lbs). Belt routing requires removing the deck or belt shield.
- Common gotcha: The belt tensioner must be fully released to install the belt. If you force it, you can damage the tensioner spring or belt. Check your deck pulley alignment before tightening.
- No washers included: The kit does not come with blade washers or bolts. Reuse your originals if they’re in good shape, or buy new ones separately.
Should You Buy It
If you own a Toro TimeCutter or MX with a 50-inch deck and want a budget-friendly one-stop kit for a blade-and-belt change, this works well. It’s not OEM-grade, but for most homeowners doing annual maintenance, the value is solid. Skip it if you need exact factory balance, run a commercial operation, or have a different deck size or spindle design.
