What It Is

This is a set of two 8-inch rear drive wheels for Toro 22" Recycler self-propelled mowers. They replace worn-out gear-driven rear wheels that have stripped hubs, cracked rims, or worn treads, restoring traction and drive function.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify three things:

  • Deck size: This part is for 22-inch deck models only. It will not fit 21-inch or 24-inch Toro Recyclers.
  • Model numbers: Confirmed fit for Toro models 20041, 20066, 20017, 20068, and 20073. Also fits older models that originally used OEM part numbers 105-3036, 105-3024, or 105-3025.
  • Wheel diameter: The wheel is 8 inches tall. Measure your current wheel center-to-edge to confirm.

This is an aftermarket replacement, not OEM Toro. It uses the same plastic hub and gear design as the original, so it should swap directly without modification. If your mower uses a different drive system (e.g., front-wheel drive or variable-speed rear axle), these will not work.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation is easy – Remove the axle bolt, pull the old wheel off, slide the new one on, and tighten the bolt. No special tools needed.
  • Check the axle key – Some models use a small metal key or flat on the axle. Make sure the new wheel’s hub slot matches your axle shape.
  • Plastic vs. durability – These are plastic wheels with a rubber-like tread. They’re fine for residential lawns but may wear faster on rocky or rough terrain.
  • Comes as a pair – You get two wheels, so you can replace both drive wheels at once. The front wheels are a different size and are not included.

Should You Buy It

If your Toro 22" Recycler’s rear wheels are slipping, wobbling, or the tread is bald, this is a cost-effective fix that restores self-propelled function. It’s a direct swap for common models and a good value at the price. Avoid it if you need OEM Toro parts or have a different deck size.
