What It Is

These front wheel bushings replace worn-out plastic or bronze sleeves in the axle spindle of riding mowers, eliminating steering wobble and slop. Designed for select John Deere D100/D130/E100 series, Husqvarna YTH2042, and Craftsman LT1000 models, they restore tight steering without replacing the entire wheel assembly.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm three things:

  • Model number: Check your mower’s model tag (under seat or on frame) against the listed series. This set fits John Deere D100, D130, E100, Husqvarna YTH2042, and Craftsman LT1000—but not all variants within those lines.
  • OEM part numbers: These replace OEM 532009040 and 532124959. If your mower uses those numbers, these will work. If not, measure your existing bushing’s inner diameter (usually 5/8” or 3/4”) and outer diameter (often 1” or 1-1/8”).
  • Quantity: 4-pack covers both front wheels (2 bushings per wheel). No need to buy extra unless your rear wheels use the same size.

Do not rely on brand alone—Craftsman mowers often share parts with Husqvarna and John Deere, but deck size or year can change bushing dimensions. Measure your current bushing length (typically 1” to 1.5”) to be safe.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation difficulty: Easy—jack up front axle, remove wheel and spindle cotter pin, slide out old bushing, press in new one. No special tools needed beyond a hammer and punch.
  • Material: These are plastic/nylon, not bronze. They last 2-3 seasons under normal use but may wear faster if you mow on rough terrain or carry heavy attachments.
  • Common gotcha: If your spindle is corroded or the old bushing is seized, you may need to remove the spindle entirely to press the new bushing in. PB Blaster helps.
  • No grease needed: These are self-lubricating. Adding grease can attract dirt and accelerate wear.

Should You Buy It

Yes, if your mower’s front wheels wobble side-to-side at low speeds or when turning—this is a cheap, quick fix that avoids replacing spindles or wheels. Best for DIYers comfortable with basic hand tools. Skip if your wobble is from a bent axle or worn spindle (not the bushing).
