What It Is

A manual swing blade designed for cutting tall grass, brush, and overgrown weeds in areas where a mower can’t reach—ditches, fence lines, forests, and fields. It’s not a mower blade; it’s a hand-operated tool with a double-edged serrated blade that attaches to a standard string trimmer head or brush cutter shaft.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Not a mower blade. It replaces the trimmer head on a straight-shaft string trimmer or brush cutter (gas or electric) with a standard 7/8-inch or 1-inch arbor hole.
  • Check your trimmer’s shaft type. Works with most straight-shaft units; curved-shaft trimmers usually won’t accept it due to shaft diameter and head design.
  • Measure the arbor hole. The blade hole is 1 inch. If your trimmer uses a 7/8-inch or a different pattern, you’ll need a reducer bushing (not included).
  • No OEM-specific fit. This is a universal aftermarket accessory—no brand or model restrictions beyond shaft type and arbor size.

Key Things to Know

  • Assembly required. You must remove the trimmer head and install the blade with the included nut and washer. Some users report the retaining nut loosens during use—check tightness every 15 minutes.
  • Double-edged serrated blade cuts on both sides, but it’s aggressive. Kickback is common if you hit thick stems or rocks. Wear heavy gloves and eye protection.
  • Quality is mixed at this price point. The blade can bend or dull quickly on woody brush. It’s fine for grass and light weeds, but not for saplings or heavy briars.
  • No vibration dampening. Compared to a metal brush cutter blade, this tool transfers more vibration to your hands. Take breaks to avoid fatigue.

Should You Buy It

Buy it if you need a cheap, manual way to clear tall grass and light weeds in awkward spots without buying a dedicated brush cutter head. Skip it if you’re cutting thick brush, woody stems, or need a durable tool for frequent heavy use—invest in a proper metal brush blade instead.
