What It Is

This is a genuine OEM flat idler pulley (part 756-04511B) for Cub Cadet zero-turn mowers, used to guide and tension the deck belt on 42–54-inch cutting decks. It’s a direct replacement for the original pulley on RZT, LX, SX, ZT1, ZT2, ZT3, and Ultima series mowers.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower’s deck size (42", 46", 50", or 54") and model series (RZT, LX, SX, ZT1/2/3, Ultima). This pulley fits both fabricated and stamped decks on those models. Measure the original pulley: it should have a 4.0" outer diameter, a 3/4" center hole, and a flat (not grooved) face. It replaces OEM numbers 756-04511, 756-04511A, and 756-04511B. Not for older Cub Cadet models with grooved idlers or non-zero-turn tractors.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Genuine Cub Cadet part with sealed ball bearings—lasts longer than most aftermarket pulleys, but costs more.
  • Installation: Easy DIY job (30–60 minutes). You’ll need a socket wrench, a 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet, and possibly a breaker bar for stubborn bolts. No special tools required.
  • Common gotcha: The pulley bolt can be tight and may strip if overtightened. Use thread locker (blue Loctite) and torque to 20–25 ft-lbs. Also, check the deck belt for wear—replace it at the same time if it’s cracked or frayed.
  • Noise check: If your old pulley is noisy (squeaking or grinding), the bearing is failing. Replace immediately to avoid belt damage.

Should You Buy It

If you own a Cub Cadet ZT series mower with a 42–54" deck and need a reliable, drop-in replacement, this OEM pulley is the right choice. It’s pricier than generic options, but the fit is guaranteed, and it will outlast cheap alternatives. Skip it if you have a non-Cub Cadet mower or a grooved pulley system—you’ll need a different part.
