What It Is

This BEZANO small idler pulley is a direct replacement for the deck belt tension pulley on select John Deere D100-series lawn tractors. It keeps the blade belt tight so the blades spin properly—critical for clean, even cuts.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your deck size first. This pulley fits John Deere D100, D110, D130, and D140 models with 42-inch or 48-inch stamped steel decks. It does not fit 54-inch decks or models outside the D100 series (e.g., X300, S240).

OEM cross-reference: Replaces John Deere part number GY22172. If your original pulley has that number stamped on it, this will work.

Measure your pulley: Stock diameter is about 4 inches. Confirm your existing pulley measures the same before buying—some aftermarket decks use different sizes.

Bearing type: This is a sealed ball bearing pulley. If your OEM pulley had a bushing or was plastic, this won’t be compatible.

Key Things to Know

  • Build quality: All-metal construction with a sealed bearing. Better than the plastic OEM pulley on some early D100 decks, but not heavy-duty for commercial use.
  • Installation difficulty: Easy—1/10. Remove the deck belt, unbolt the old pulley with a 1/2-inch wrench, bolt this one on, and reinstall the belt. No special tools needed.
  • Common gotcha: The center bolt may be tight. Use penetrating oil if corroded. Don’t overtighten the new pulley—hand-tight plus a quarter turn is plenty.
  • Belt alignment: If your deck belt still slips after installing, the belt itself may be worn. This pulley won’t fix a stretched belt.

Should You Buy It

Yes, if you own a D100-series John Deere with a 42- or 48-inch deck and need a quick, affordable fix for a noisy or seized idler pulley. It’s a solid value for homeowner use, but skip it if you have a 54-inch deck or a commercial mower—those need a heavier-duty pulley.
