What It Is

This kit includes a side discharge chute (731-07131) and a hinged mulching plug (987-02516A) for MTD-built Craftsman push mowers. It lets you switch between bagging, side-discharging, and mulching on the same deck.

Fitment & Compatibility

• Deck size: Fits 21-inch steel decks only. Measure your deck width before ordering.
• Models: Confirmed fit for TB110, TB130, TB230, and similar Craftsman/MTD 21" walk-behinds (e.g., 944.xxxxx series). Not for zero-turn, riding, or older aluminum decks.
• OEM vs aftermarket: This is OEM replacement from AOIT (not genuine Craftsman). Works fine but check that your deck has the same mounting slots and hinge pin location as OEM.
• Quick check: If your current chute or plug uses a single spring clip or a pivot pin, this should match. If you have a screw-on chute or a different plug shape, it won’t.
