What It Is

The 8TEN LawnRAZOR Blade is a toothed mulching blade designed for Exmark Lazer Z DS-Series, E-Series, and Turf Tracer mowers with a 60-inch deck. It replaces OEM part numbers 116-5174 and 103-6398, intended to chop clippings finer for better nutrient recycling.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Deck size: Only fits 60-inch Exmark decks. Do not use on 48", 52", or 72" decks.
  • Models: Exmark Lazer Z DS (2010+), E-Series (2013+), Turf Tracer (all years with 60" deck). Not compatible with Lazer Z X-Series or Quest.
  • OEM cross-reference: Replaces Exmark 116-5174 and 103-6398. Confirm your current blade part number on the blade stamp.
  • Measurements: Center hole diameter is 5/8”. Blade length is 20.5 inches. Thickness is 0.187 inches. Verify these match your spindles.
  • Mounting hardware: Uses the same bolts/washers as OEM. No adapters needed if your deck accepts standard 5/8" hole blades.

Key Things to Know

  • Mulching vs. standard: The toothed edge creates more lift and cuts grass finer than standard lift blades, but may leave clumps in wet, tall grass.
  • Installation: Requires a torque wrench. Tighten blade bolts to 70–90 ft-lbs. Hand-tightening will cause wobble and poor cut.
  • Balance check: Out of box, some blades may need balancing. Use a blade balancer; grinding a small amount from the heavy end is normal.
  • Sharpening: The toothed edge is harder to sharpen at home than standard blades. Many users replace them rather than sharpen.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you run a 60" Exmark Lazer Z or Turf Tracer, want improved mulching over standard blades, and don’t mind checking balance before install. Skip it if you mow in wet conditions often, need a standard lift blade for bagging, or prefer blades you can easily sharpen at home.
