What It Is

This is a 2-pack of 6.0Ah 40V lithium-ion batteries plus a charger, designed as a replacement for Greenworks 40V cordless lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other outdoor power tools that use the Greenworks 40V battery platform.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Works with: Greenworks 40V tools originally using models 29462, 29252, 20202, 22262, 25312, 25322, 20642, 22272, 27062, 21242.
  • Check your tool’s battery port: This battery uses the standard Greenworks 40V slide-in interface. If your tool accepts a 40V Greenworks battery, it should fit. It will not fit 80V, 60V, or 24V Greenworks tools.
  • OEM vs aftermarket: This is a compatible (aftermarket) replacement, not OEM Greenworks. It may have slightly different charge/discharge characteristics.
  • Physical size: The 6.0Ah battery is taller and heavier than the stock 2.0Ah or 4.0Ah packs. Verify your mower’s battery compartment has enough clearance (measure depth if unsure). Some older mower decks may have a tight fit.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation: No tools required. Slide the battery onto the tool until it clicks. To remove, press the release button and pull. The charger plugs into a standard 120V outlet.
  • Run time: The 6.0Ah capacity gives roughly 50% more run time than a 4.0Ah pack. Expect 30–45 minutes on a typical 20-inch mower under normal grass conditions.
  • Common gotchas:
    • Aftermarket batteries may not trigger the charger’s “full” indicator consistently. If the charger light stays green, remove the battery after 4–5 hours to avoid overcharging.
    • Do not use this battery in sub-freezing temperatures—it can reduce performance and lifespan.
    • The charger included is a standard 40V charger, not a rapid charger. Full charge from empty takes about 2–3 hours per battery.

Should You Buy It

If you own multiple Greenworks 40V tools and need extra runtime for larger lawns (1/4 acre or more), this 2-pack is a solid value. It’s best for users comfortable with aftermarket parts and who can work around minor charger quirks. Avoid if you need OEM reliability or have a very tight battery compartment.
