What It Is

This is a set of four anti-scalp deck wheels designed to prevent the mower deck from scraping or digging into uneven turf. They replace OEM parts for Bad Boy (022-5234-98) and Exmark (103-4051, 103-7263) zero-turn mowers, and fit many other brands with a 5/8" bore and 4" wheel size.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm three things:

  • Bore diameter – must be exactly 5/8" (0.625"). Measure the shaft or spindle on your mower.
  • Wheel diameter – these are 4" wheels. Verify your deck has clearance for that size, especially if replacing smaller wheels.
  • Mounting hole spacing – the bracket mounting holes are 2.75" center-to-center. Check against your deck’s existing holes.
  • Deck type – designed for zero-turn mowers (Bad Boy, Exmark, Scag, Toro, and others with standard anti-scalp mounts). Not for push mowers or most riding tractors.
  • OEM cross-reference – fits Bad Boy 022-5234-98 and Exmark 103-4051/103-7263. If your model uses a different OEM number, measure to confirm.

Key Things to Know

  • Build quality – solid plastic wheels with steel bearings. They roll smoothly but are not pneumatic; they won’t absorb shocks like air-filled tires.
  • Installation – simple bolt-on job. Remove the old wheel and bracket (if included), then mount the new one. May need a wrench or socket. No cutting or drilling typically required.
  • Common gotcha – the included brackets may not match all decks. If your existing brackets are fine, reuse them. Measure bracket height and offset before swapping.
  • Anti-scalp height – adjust the wheel height so it just clears the ground on flat pavement. Too low and it scalps; too high and it won’t protect.

Should You Buy It

If you have a Bad Boy or Exmark zero-turn with worn or missing anti-scalp wheels, this kit is a direct, affordable replacement. It also works for many other brands with a 5/8" bore and 4" wheel size, but measure first. Good value for preventing lawn damage on uneven terrain.
