What It Is

This is a two-pack of replacement PTO (Power Take-Off) drive belts for Toro TimeMaster and TurfMaster 30-inch lawn mowers. The belt drives the blades from the engine’s PTO pulley, and this set is intended for models using OEM part number 121-5765.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your deck size and model number. This belt is specifically for 30-inch cutting decks on Toro TimeMaster (models 20978, 22205TE, 22210, 20200) and TurfMaster (models 20199, 20975, 20976, 20977). It will not fit 21-inch, 22-inch, or 42-inch decks.

OEM vs aftermarket. This is an aftermarket belt, not genuine Toro. Confirm your mower’s OEM part number is 121-5765 (check your owner’s manual or the old belt’s part number). The belt length is approximately 1/2” x 76” (width x length). Measure your old belt if possible—if it’s shorter or longer, this won’t work.

PTO vs drive belt. This is the PTO belt (blade engagement), not the traction drive belt. Double-check you’re replacing the correct belt.

Key Things to Do

  • Verify belt length. Counterfeit or mislabeled belts are common. Measure your old belt’s length (lay it flat, measure end to end) and compare to the listed 76 inches. A 1/2-inch difference can cause slippage or poor engagement.
  • Inspect pulleys before installing. Worn, rough, or bent pulleys will shred a new belt quickly. Spin each pulley by hand—if it wobbles or has sharp edges, replace it first.
  • Install with the correct routing. Take a photo of the old belt’s path before removing it. The belt must be routed around the PTO pulley, blade pulleys, and any idler pulleys exactly as shown in your manual. Incorrect routing causes rapid wear or blade disengagement.
  • Break-in period. After installation, run the mower at full throttle for 2–3 minutes, then stop and re-check belt tension. It may stretch slightly and need adjustment.

Should You Buy It

If you have a Toro TimeMaster or TurfMaster 30-inch mower and need a budget-friendly two-pack for the PTO belt, this is a decent value. But because it’s aftermarket and has a 3.7-star rating, expect slightly shorter lifespan than OEM (especially in heavy or wet grass). It’s fine for light residential use or as a spare, but if you mow commercially or want maximum durability, stick with a genuine Toro belt.
