This is a 2-pack of front tire and wheel assemblies for riding lawn mowers, featuring 13x5.00-6 flat-free (airless) tires with turf tread. Designed to replace worn or flat front tires on zero-turn mowers, lawn tractors, and garden tractors, eliminating the need for air pressure maintenance.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, verify these four measurements:
- Tire size: Must be 13x5.00-6 (13" diameter, 5" width, 6" rim). Measure your old tire—if it’s close but not exact, it won’t fit correctly.
- Hub center hole: 3" to 6" centered hub. Measure from the center of your mower’s spindle to the outer edge of the hub mounting area. If your spindle is offset (not centered), these won’t fit.
- Bushing bore: Choose either 3/4" or 5/8" sintered iron bushing. Measure your spindle shaft diameter—most common are 5/8" (Craftsman, Husqvarna) or 3/4" (John Deere, some MTD). Confirm before ordering.
- Bolt pattern: These use a 4-bolt pattern (common on most riding mowers). Check your wheel’s bolt circle diameter—typically 3.75" or 4.0"—to ensure alignment.
These are aftermarket, not OEM-specific. They fit many brands (John Deere, Husqvarna, Craftsman, MTD, Troy-Bilt, etc.) but always measure your existing assembly. Deck size doesn’t matter—only spindle and hub specs.
Key Things to Know
- Flat-free = no maintenance, but stiffer ride: The solid foam construction never goes flat, but it transmits more vibration than pneumatic tires. Ideal for rough terrain or if you frequently get punctures.
- Installation is straightforward: Remove the old wheel, slide on the new one, and tighten the lug nuts (usually 1/2" or 9/16" socket). No tire mounting or balancing needed.
- Check bushing wear: Sintered iron bushings are durable but can wear over time. If your spindle is slightly out of round, the bushing may wobble. Replace spindle if worn.
- Turf tread is for grass only: These tires provide good traction on lawns but will slip on pavement or gravel. Not for all-terrain use.
Should You Buy It
Buy these if you’re tired of fixing flats on your riding mower’s front tires, have a standard 13x5.00-6 size with a centered hub, and want a no-maintenance solution for mowing on turf. Skip if you need offset hubs, pneumatic tires for a smoother ride, or all-terrain traction.
