This is a 2-pack of aftermarket spindle assemblies (model 130794) designed to replace the OEM spindles on select Craftsman, Husqvarna, and Poulan mower decks. Spindles are the rotating housings that hold the blade and transfer power from the belt, so worn or wobbly spindles cause uneven cutting and vibration.
Fitment & Compatibility
Critical check before buying: Measure your deck’s spindle-to-spindle bolt pattern. This spindle uses a 3-bolt flange with a 2.75" bolt circle. It fits decks that accept OEM part 130794 or 137641.
- Fits: Craftsman 36" (LT1000, LT2000 series), 38" (some 917/247 models), and 42" decks (including TH150, YTH1842).
- Also fits: Husqvarna YTH1842, Poulan PP1242, 342074, and other models using the same spindle pattern.
- Does NOT fit: 46" or 54" decks, or any zero-turn spindles.
- OEM vs aftermarket: This is a non-OEM replacement. Dimensions match OEM, but some users report slightly different dust shield thickness.
What to bring to the store: Your old spindle or a photo of the mounting holes and shaft diameter (must be 5/8" hex for standard blades).
Key Things to Know
- Quality: Generally solid for the price, but bearings are sealed and not serviceable. Expect 2-3 seasons under normal use.
- Installation difficulty: Moderate—requires removing the deck, belt, and pulleys. You’ll need a socket set, puller for the pulley, and locktite on bolts.
- Common gotcha: The included spindle bolts are sometimes too short for thicker decks—reuse your original bolts if needed.
- Blade compatibility: Uses a 5/8" hex shaft. Standard Craftsman/Husqvarna blades fit, but check blade length for your deck size.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you have a 36-42" Craftsman or compatible Husqvarna/Poulan deck with worn or bent spindles and want a budget-friendly replacement that works out of the box. Skip it if you need OEM-grade bearings for heavy commercial use, or if your deck has an unusual bolt pattern—measure first.
