What It Is

This is a 2-pack of stainless steel terminal bolts and nuts designed to replace corroded, stripped, or broken battery cable fasteners on John Deere lawn tractors, zero-turn mowers, and some compact utility tractors. It secures the positive and negative battery cables to the battery posts.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify your battery uses 5/16-inch (8mm) terminal bolts—most John Deere lawn batteries do, but some larger or deep-cycle batteries may require 3/8-inch bolts. These fit John Deere models including the X300, X500, Z500, Z600, D100, D140, 1025R, 2025R, 2032R, 3032E, 3039R, 4066R and many others with standard automotive-style terminals. They replace OEM parts 19M7775 and 14M7303. Not compatible with side-post or stud-type battery terminals. Measure your old bolt length (these are about 1 inch long) to ensure they reach through your cable lugs and washers.

Key Things to Know

  • Stainless steel resists corrosion much better than the original zinc-plated bolts, especially in humid or wet storage conditions.
  • Installation is simple—just remove the old bolts, clean the battery posts and cable ends, and hand-tighten these with a 10mm wrench. Do not overtighten; snug is enough (about 5-6 ft-lbs).
  • Use dielectric grease on the threads and cable ends after installation to prevent future corrosion and ensure good electrical contact.
  • Check cable lug hole size—some aftermarket cables have holes larger than 5/16-inch, which may cause a loose fit. If so, use a flat washer under the nut.

Should You Buy It

If your John Deere’s battery terminals are rusty, stripped, or just won’t hold a tight connection, this $7 pack is a cheap, durable fix. It’s ideal for DIY owners who want a corrosion-resistant upgrade over OEM hardware. Skip it if your battery uses side-post or stud terminals, or if you need longer bolts for thick cable stacks.
