What It Is

This is a set of toothed mulching blades designed for 60-inch Cub Cadet zero-turn mowers. They chop clippings finer than standard blades, letting grass decompose faster and eliminating bagging for most mowing conditions.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify three things:

  • Deck size: Only fits 60-inch decks. Measure your deck’s cutting width if unsure.
  • Model list: Confirmed for Cub Cadet Z-Force L60, LE60, LX60, LZ60, SX60, SZ60, PRO Z 100, and 160-L. Also fits some RZT and LTX models with 60" decks—cross-reference your OEM part number.
  • OEM replacement: Replaces OEM 942-04415. Aftermarket; not genuine Cub Cadet. Check blade length, center hole diameter, and offset (usually 0.5” or 0.625” lift) against your old blade. If your deck uses a different spindle or blade pattern, these won’t work.

Key Things to Know

  • Mulching performance: The toothed edge cuts clippings finer than standard blades, but in very wet or tall grass you may still get clumping—slow down or overlap passes.
  • Installation: Use a torque wrench to 70-90 ft-lbs. The blades are symmetrical, so no special orientation. Mark the deck’s rotation direction before removing old blades.
  • Durability: Heat-treated steel, but not hardened as some OEM blades. Expect to sharpen or replace every 2-3 seasons with normal use. Avoid hitting rocks or roots—blades can bend.
  • Balance: Some users report minor imbalance out of the box. Test spin each blade on a balancer before mounting; file the heavy side if needed.

Should You Buy It

If you own a 60-inch Cub Cadet zero-turn and want to mulch without bagging, these blades are a solid budget-friendly alternative to OEM. They work well for typical residential lawns but may require slight balancing prep. Not ideal for commercial use or rocky terrain—go with heavier-duty OEM blades for those conditions.
